12m Inspection Pit for Servicing.

For most of us when we see our first inspection pit it's already installed in the workshop floor.

The old style, manufactured with concrete blocks or bricks, usually leaking, wet, filthy dirty and with some sort of makeshift steps to gain entry to it? On top of that cabled lead lights on extension leads and air supply hoses disappearing into the pit like strands of spaghetti!!!

Forget all of that and look at the Inspection Pits we at AX Garage Equipment supply.

They are completely the opposite, manufactured in "one-piece" (depending on design & dimensions) Manufactured from 5mm thick steel with bright white gloss finish internal walls, walk-in removable steel staircase and optional sump for any spillage, pre-fitted compressed air-line with quick connector and pre-fitted bright LED lighting.

12m Inspection Pit - Ready for use.

Our 12m overall length, Inspection Pit is our best seller into the HGV, Truck and Bus service and repair sector.

It is light and airy with a clear working length of over 10 metres when measured from the bottom of the walk-in steps to the bottom of the emergency exit ladder.

Checking for level and position in the workbay.

Positioned and ready for the workshop floor to be installed.

Finished with equipment installed.

This example installation above is in a newly built industrial unit and the floor is still to be poured.

Many of the Inspection Pits we supply are going into an existing

building so the installation is slightly different.

The floor is likely to require cutting for access.

In this type of scenario, we are more than happy to supply metal bearers, so during the installation,

the inspection pit can be suspended from an existing floor, see sample photos below.

The workshop floor has been cut by the contractor using a diamond cut saw machine.

The spoil from the hole in the floor has been removed and moved away from the area.

This inspection pit was supplied to the customer with the option of the steel bearers shown.

Once the inspection pit has been lowered into position and its location finalised, the services duct can be connected and pouring of the concrete can commence.

Note: Its always advisable to carry out the concrete pour in three to four separate pours.

Failure to do this could result in the inspection pit breaking out of the ground and floating on the wet concrete like a boat!!!!
